I2K AIRPAD: RESCUE FALL PROTECTION
EQUIPMENT THAT SAVES LIVES
Traditional Fall Rescue Mats vs. AirPads
Rescue fall protection equipment could be the determining factor between life and death. First responders need to be equipped with all the necessary equipment to ensure the safety of others along with their own.
Falling with Style
Injuries are virtually non-existent with Airpads because no matter what part of the body hits the AirBag, it is safely cushioned, thanks to our patented ZeroShock technology.
An AirPad’s multiple ZeroShock fingers offer far greater coverage and durability and give first responders the assurance they need to get people from great heights down safely.
Every Spot is a Sweet Spot
In emergency situations, traditional rescue fall protection equipment typically offers just one spot that guarantees an individual’s safety–the middle.
With AirPads, there is no guessing. You can land anywhere on our rescue equipment without getting bounced or injured.
Quick and Easy Transport & Setup
AirPads inflate via electric, gas, pneumatic or battery-powered inflation blowers or Constant Air Mover systems in industrial fall protection settings.
With the air removed, AirPads can be packed down into a manageable size, which makes transportation and storage a breeze.
Most Common Emergency Situations
AirPads are perfect for any emergency at great heights. Here are some of the most common emergency situations and how Airpads can help:
High-Rise Building Fire and Rescue
According to a report done by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), U.S. fire departments responded to an average of 14,500 structure fires per year in high-rise buildings between 2009 to 2013. These fires caused an annual average of 40 civilian deaths and 520 civilian damages.
In the same report, most high-rise building fires begin on floors no higher than the sixth story with dorms and apartments leading the way statistically at 47 and 41 percent, respectively.
In turn, high-rise buildings tend to have more occupants and a longer distance to the exit making fire prevention and fire protection measures essential.
AirPads are fully customizable and provide a versatile feel. First responders can regulate the pressure within the AirPad, making it soft or hard to satisfy customer needs while maintaining unbeatable softness and reliability.
Rescue and Descent (Rescue/Descent)
With Rescue and Descent devices, some are more situational-based than generalized. This can make trying to find the one perfect rescue/descent device next to impossible, leading to costly and inefficient tool stocking. Also, rescue efforts can be delayed. Because rescuers are limited to a single person at a time per piece of equipment. AirPads save precious seconds because multiple workers can fall simultaneously and as close as 24″ apart without danger.
Confined Space Rescue
Our AirPad can be made to fit almost any confined space’s dimensions or shape. This makes an i2k AirPad an ideal fall rescue solution for confined space rescue.
What are 3 Types of Fall Protection Devices?
According to OSHA, falls are the leading cause of fatalities in construction, accounting for about one-third of all fatalities in the industry.
While frequent, these types of deaths can be prevented. The three different categories types of fall protection devices are:
- Fall Prevention
- Fall Arrest
- Fall Restraint
Let’s take a closer look at each one:
Fall Prevention
Fall prevention systems create a barrier between the users and the fall hazard. While this helps prevent injury and require no training, up front expense is often costly. Plus, these types of fall protection solutions typically require annual maintenance. Examples of fall prevention equipment include guardrails and skylight screens.
Fall Restraint
Fall restraint systems prevent users from reaching a fall hazard through a tie off system. Similar to the fall arrest system, there is less potential for injury. An example of this system is a harness and lanyard (sometimes self retracting) tied off at a set length from a weighted tie off point.
Fall Arrest
Fall arrest systems like i2k’s AirPad don’t leave anything to chance. It’s still advisable to use a fall restraint system (tie-off), even fall prevention like guard rails. But if all else fails… the fall arrest equipment will be there.

How Our Patented ZeroShock Technology Works
Instead of feeling a rigid jolt as one’s body comes into contact with a surface, i2k wants people to experience a totally shock-free landing experience. ZeroShock technology air bags were carefully developed to allow jumpers and athletes to push their boundaries more safely and comfortably than ever before without fear.
Unlike other inflatable fall protection systems, our ZeroShock technology releases air gently. Individual “fingers” called Crumple Tubes form around a person’s body to carefully cradle their impact. These Crumple Tubes are a series of cylindrical tubes that sit below the “floating tubes that sit below the “floating” top surface sheet of the i2k AirPad.
When a body hits and indents the top of the surface sheet, a small amount of air within the Crumple Tubes immediately expels into the base bag below, cushioning falls.
